Modern slavery statement for financial year 31st August 2024

Introduction

Performs Assessment Ltd (PAL) is committed to combatting modern slavery and human

trafficking within our operations. This statement sets out our commitment to the UK Modern

Slavery Act and the steps taken to eradicate these abhorrent practices.

Structure, Business and Supply Chains

PAL operates from offices based in the University of Nottingham, Clinical Sciences Building,

Nottingham City Hospital, Hucknall Road, Nottingham NG5 1PB. PAL is an information

technology consultancy, delivering tailored training and performance enhancement

programmes to healthcare professionals involved in breast screening worldwide. With a

focus on supporting early cancer detection and maintaining high standards in radiology

through independent quality assurance, PAL currently employs three staff members.

Our suppliers are primarily based in the UK, with some services sourced from within the

European Union. UK-based companies provide accounting and legal services for the

PERFORMS quality assurance scheme, while marketing services are delivered by a firm in

Luxembourg and software development is handled by a provider in the Netherlands.

Given the nature of our work and the professional services we engage, the risk of modern

slavery or human trafficking within our supply chain is considered low; however, we remain

committed to ethical practices and responsible sourcing.

Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

During the course of the coming year, we will conduct a risk assessment of the

aforementioned companies, to evaluate any potential risks related to modern slavery and

ensure that all of them continue to meet our standards for ethical and responsible business

practices.

We recognise that companies based outside, or procuring from outside, the UK and EU may

present a higher risk. The findings from this assessment will inform our audit prioritisation

process.

Supply Chain Due Diligence

Our supply chain includes, but not limited to, providers of:

consultancy

accountancy

legal

marketing/website management

IT software and architecture

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in the

aforementioned companies or in any part of our business.

During the course of the financial year, we will revise our policies with these companies so it

reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationshipsand to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and

human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

This will be sent to all companies who will be expected to positively affirm their commitment

to the contents of the Modern Slavery Act and ensure strict compliance with our service

agreements.

Our terms and conditions of trade will be modified and reissued to include a general

“compliance with laws and policies” clause.

Where appropriate, company audits will be conducted.

Training and Awareness

We will develop a training and awareness program to ensure that all staff are fully aware of

the issues surrounding modern slavery and trafficking within our own business and our

supply chain.

Effectiveness and Performance

Over the course of the next 12 months, we will continually evaluate our performance on the

objectives we have set.

Following the review of the effectiveness of the steps we have taken we will implement any

further steps required to combat slavery and trafficking.

Responsible Individual

The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for Modern Slavery compliance for PAL but

the CEO will have responsibility for implementation of the steps set out in this statement.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and

constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ended 31st

August 2024.
