PERFORMS Lung is a self-assessment and training platform. Its goal is to ensure accurate interpretation of CT scans for improved patient outcomes, reduced clinician workload, and efficient resource allocation.
Comprehensive Performance Assessment for Readers
Using our bespoke platform, radiologists are tested on three different image interpretation tasks on low dose CT scans.
New test sets of cases are carefully selected on an annual basis by an expert panel of lung cancer screening radiologists.
Readers are provided with a confidential login to the PERFORMS lung website for case review and access to personalized reports, benchmarking their performance against their peers.
PERFORMS lung identifies underperforming readers and provides further tailored training.

The Targeted Lung Health Checks (TLHC) programme in England is pioneering and aims to detect lung cancer earlier while accurately ruling out those without the disease. Reading low-dose thoracic CT scans for TLHC demands specialised skills—clinical expertise, judgment, and keen perception. PERFECTS (PERFormance Evaluation for CT Screening) is the PERFORMS Lung scheme, mandated by the UK TLHC programme. PERFECTS aims to enhance these skills, identifying areas needing more training and support. The programme is funded by NHS England and NHS Improvement
